We LOVE the BLUES ~ WELCOME one and all!
From Dennis:
The music known as the Blues was born out of duress, joy, and coded expression. It is truly the foundation stone on which modern popular music stands, and its roots are as alive today as they were 100 years ago and more. In the last 50 years the State of Vermont has seen the rise and occasional fall in popularity of this essential musical form, but its heart has never stopped beating, and today a vital resurgence of Blues musicians and Blues bands is beginning to fill up local venues, where people can hear some of that authentic roots sound and modern interpretations of the same. As a result, participation of musicians from all corners of the state have begun to attend the many Jam sessions to display their passion and expertise. Audience attendance is rising and it has become clear, that Blues resonates with the majority. The time has come to amplify this wave of popularity and participation, and we are thrilled to announce the formation of The Vermont Blues Society. |
